COMMUNITY ROOM
The monumental staircase is one of the special areas on the site which promotes an urban oasis environment. It is located between the two northern most buildings, Fall Kill and Dongan and is accessed by the public and residents from Dongan Place. It sits on axis with the existing rustic stone pillar entrance, thus retaining its historical procession up to the Pelton Manor. Special architectural details on Fall Kill and Dongan adjacent to this staircase serves as a visual connection and frames the entrances. The staircase is generous in width to accommodate both adequate circulation and leisure gathering. There is landscaped vegetation running parallel on either side of the staircase leading down to the lower platform where there are two seating areas with benches and bluestone paving for private and public use.
